Russian Helicopters intends to up production 10% to 300 helicopters in 2013
JOHANNESBURG. March 27 (Interfax) - The holding Russian Helicopters intends this year to increase production 10% to roughly three hundred helicopters, the holding's deputy chief, Andrei Shibitov, said in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
"In 2012 we produced around two hundred eight helicopters. I think this year there will be production growth of roughly ten percent," Shibitov said, adding that in 2012 production growth was up 15%-20% from 2011.
Shibitov said the company has been able to keep production growing 15%-20% for the past several years. He linked this to a major state order.
Russian Helicopters produces both civilian and military helicopters. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oboronprom, which in turn belongs to the state corporation Rostec - the former Russian Technologies.
