Russian Helicopters plans to assemble helicopters in Brazil

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa. March 27 (Interfax) - The Russian Helicopters holding plans to assemble helicopters in Brazil, deputy head of the Rostec state corporation Dmitry Shugayev said.

"Rostec plans to assemble, maintain and repair Russian helicopters, as well as other military and civil products, in Brazil as part of partnership with the country's largest military and industrial group, the Oderbreht holding," Shugayev said.

"Currently, regional service centers and enterprises operate in the EU, CIS, Asia and South America," he said.

Shugayev recalled that the first export contract for the delivery of latest Russian Ka-62 helicopters to Brazil's Atlas Taxi Aero company was signed as part of the Russian president's visit to Brazil in December 2012.

Russia's Mi-35 military transport helicopters are supplied to Brazil as well, he recalled.
