Russia to increase financial aide to Abkhazia to 30 bln rubles - Ankvab

SUKHUM. March 27 (Interfax) - Abkhaz President Alexander Ankvab said that Russia would increase its financial aide for social and economic development of Abkhazia to 30 billion rubles.

"These funds are not loans to be repaid but aide Russia allocates to assist the republic's development," Ankvab said on Wednesday at a meeting with authorities of the Abkhaz Gudauta District.

"The aide will be raised because they see what we do and how we spend funds. Russian Ambassador to Abkhazia Semyon Grigoryev participates in openings of objects and sees the level of completed work. This sum could be even higher, everything depends on our work," the Abkhaz president said.
