Unilateral military activity around N.Korea could cause situation to get out of control - Lavrov
MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed concern about attempts to build up military activity around North Korea
"We are alarmed by the fact that along with the adequate reaction of the UN Security Council, the collective reaction of the international community, unilateral actions are being taken around North Korea that manifest themselves in a buildup of military activeness. We can simply let the situation get out of control, and it will slip into a spiral of a vicious circle," he said at a Friday press conference following his talks with his Ukrainian colleague Leonid Kozhara.
"Military muscle should not be pumped up and the current situation should not be used as a pretext for resolving some geopolitical tasks by military means in the region"; instead efforts must be concentrated on creating conditions for the resumption of the six-sided talks," he said.
