Rospotrebnadzor stalls export resumption of Georgian mineral water Borzhomi

MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - The return of the Georgian mineral water Borzhomi to the Russian market has been stalled.

"We have questions on Borzhomi," chief of the Russian consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, Gennady Onishchenko, told Interfax on Monday.

"We will request that another set of samples be provided to us," Onishchenko said.

The Borzhomi mineral water producer was among the first Georgian entities inspected by Rospotrebnadzor experts in late February - early March.

Rospotrebnadzor allowed two Georgian producers, Kindzmarauli Marani and Dugladze Wine House, to resume exports following the first inspection of the Russian watchdog. The other inspected entities are currently undergoing state registration in Russia.

A second inspection of Rospotrebnadzor, which will cover several dozen of producers in Western Georgia and Adzharia, left on Monday.
