There is no war threat in Central Asia - Bordyuzha

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - There are currently no grounds for an armed conflict in Central Asia, Nikolai Bordyuzha, general secretary of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), said.

"We believe the situation in Central Asia and the CSTO countries is currently relatively stable. There have recently been no serious social and political shocks. We don't see any real threats of an armed conflict between the countries of the region," he told a conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

"We don't see any preconditions to serious shocks in the countries," Bordyuzha said.

The CSTO comprises Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
