Duma committee endorses Nabiullina as Central Bank chairman

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - The State Duma Financial Market Committee endorsed Elvira Nabiullina's candidature for chairman of the Central Bank at a meeting on Wednesday.

The State Duma is scheduled to review Nabiullina's candidature on April 9.

The powers of current Central Bank Chairman Sergei Ignatyev expire on June 24, by which date the Duma has to appoint a new chairman.

The Financial Market Committee also endorsed the draft order to relieve Ignatyev of his duties.
