Sibur processes 4% more associated gas in 2012

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Sibur's gas processing plants (GPPs) processed 18.7 billion cubic meters of associated petroleum gas (APG) in 2012, 3.8% more than in 2012, the petrochemicals holding said in a statement.

The figure includes gas processing by plants that are part of Sibur's Yugragazpererabotka joint venture with TNK-BP and TNK-BP's share in processing/production volumes of Yugragazpererabotka.

Production of natural gas (equivalent to dry gas, a product of APG processing) rose 3.6% to 16.4 billion cubic meters.

Raw natural gas liquids (raw NGL) production increased by 1.0% year-on-year to 4.2 million tonnes.

Natural gas sales volumes increased by 15.6% in 2012 to 10.6 billion cubic meters. External sales of natural gas liquids (NGLs), which comprise liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), naphtha and an insignificant portion of raw NGL, rose 1.9% year-on-year to 4.1 million tonnes. Sales volumes of petrochemical products reached 2.3 million tonnes, an increase of 4.9%.

Sales of MTBE, other fuels and fuel additives fell 9.3% to 569,500 tonnes.

Basic polymers production grew 3.4% to 385,790 tonnes, plastics and organic synthesis production rose 39% to 844,800 tonnes and production of intermediates and other chemicals production grew 9.5% to 3.445 million tonnes.

Synthetic rubbers production fell 0.7% to 423,350 tonnes.
