Iran and P5+1 not yet looking for compromise - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - The P5+1 group (the UN Security Council's five permanent members plus Germany) and Iran have not yet started to look for a compromise on Tehran's nuclear program, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.
"Regrettably, the sides have not yet started to move toward formulating compromise-based agreements in their talks," he said at a press briefing in Moscow on Thursday.
"Although, on the other hand, I have to admit that their exchange of ideas and approaches is proceeding at a good professional level, which is great," the Russian diplomat said.
If an upcoming meeting in Almaty succeeds in giving a start to the sides' work to formulate concrete agreements on ways to resolve the Iranian nuclear problem, it will be possible to say that the negotiators have lived up to the expectations put on them by their countries, he said.
