Russian, Syrian diplomats discuss Syria crisis

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told Syrian Ambassador to Moscow Riyad Haddad that Russia was troubled by the absence of progress in promoting dialogue between the authorities and the opposition in Syria.

"The situation in and around Syria was discussed. Serious concern was also expressed over the absence of progress in the cause of promoting dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website after the meeting.

"The Russian side resolutely condemned the continuing terrorist sorties in Syria, which have claimed the lives of civilians," it said.
