List of grounds for unscheduled inspections of NGOs should be broadened - Justice Ministry
MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Justice Ministry has called for expanding the list of grounds entitling authorities to conduct unscheduled inspections of non-governmental organizations.
"The Justice Ministry and its territorial bodies have no opportunity to react timely to reports of violations by non-governmental organizations of Russian law, which significantly devalues the efficiency of federal supervision of non-governmental organizations' activities," the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"We deem it necessary to propose amendments providing more grounds for unscheduled inspections of non-governmental organizations reported to have violated Russian law," it said.
