Pyatigorsk resident sentenced to life in jail for raping, killing 9-year-old girl

PYATIGORSK. April 10 (Interfax) - The Stavropol Territorial Court convicted on Wednesday Vladimir Ambartsumov of raping and killing 9-year-old Anna Prokopenko in Pyatigorsk, an Interfax correspondent reported from the courtroom.

"V. Ambartsumov was found guilty of seven crimes and sentenced to life in a high-security prison. He will also pay 1 million rubles to A. Prokopenko," the judge said.
