Kremlin will read Russian NGO address on foreign financing of civil sector - Peskov

MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax) - The Kremlin will respond to the address issued by Russian NGOs on foreign financing of the civil sector after reading the text of the document, Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov told Interfax.

"We currently know about this address only from media reports. No doubt, we need to become familiar with its content," Peskov said, adding that this will take some time because the president is now in Buryatia and then will head to Blagoveshchensk.

"I can't say anything else on this address right now," Peskov said.

A law requiring NGOs receiving foreign funding to register as "foreign agents" took effect in Russia on November 21, 2012. In March, the Justice Ministry press service said the mass inspections of NGOs were aimed at revealing "foreign agents."
