Lukashenko announces law enforcement appointments
MINSK. April 12 (Interfax) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on Friday announced appointments at the State Security Committee, State Border Committee, Investigative Committee and Interior Ministry.
Igor Sergeyenko has been appointed first vice chairman of the State Security Committee responsible for counterintelligence, the presidential press service has reported. Igor Busko has been appointed the State Security Committee's vice chairman responsible for personnel and organizational issues; Vyacheslav Yezersky has been appointed head of the State Security Service's department for the Brest region and Alexander Neverov will head the State Security Committee's department for the Mogilyov Region.
Lukashenko also appointed Igor Butkevich as first vice chairman of the State Border Committee and head of the Committee's Main Operations Department, and Valery Goryachko as vice chairman of the State Border Committee and the Committee's ideology and personnel chief.
Pavel Ignatov has been appointed head of the Investigative Committee's department for the Minsk region, and Ivan Podgursky head of the Interior Ministry's Operations and Search Department, the presidential press service said.
