Gazprom board to discuss privatization of Greek DEPA on April 22
MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - The Gazprom board of directors will discuss the privatization tender for Greek national gas distributor DEPA at a meeting on April 22, the Russian gas giant said.
The board meeting will take place on a distance basis.
Gazprom is only planning to bid for DEPA.
Another Russian company bidding in the privatization is Sintez Group, which would like to buy both DEPA and pipeline operator DESFA. Bids for the latter are expected from State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), Czech PPF and GEK Terna.
One other bidder for DEPA is the M&M GasCo-Mytilineos-Motor Oil consortium.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller visited Athens twice in March in order to discuss the privatization with officials there.
Gazprom plans a vote on April 23 on a deal with Wintershall Vermogensverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH and CJSC Achimgas, in which the company has an interest.
