Artem Kuznetsov, native of Baku put on U.S. 'Magnitsky List', not Azeri citizen - Azeri Foreign Ministry

BAKU. April 13 (Interfax) - Artem Kuznetsov, one of the 18 Russians added recently by the U.S. authorities to the Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control's Specially Designated Nationals List (OFAC's SDN list) under the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012, is not a citizen of Azerbaijan, even though he was born in Baku, the Azeri Foreign Ministry said.

"While Artem Kuznetsov was born in Baku, he is a citizen of Russia. Therefore, it would be more reasonable for Russia, not for Azerbaijan, to comment on his inclusion in the Magnitsky List," Azeri Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev told Interfax.
