Court reinstates Georgian Public Broadcaster's dismissed general director
TBILISI. April 15 (Interfax) - The Tbilisi city court on Monday reinstated Giorgy Baratashvili as the Georgian Public Broadcaster's general director.
The Georgian Public Broadcaster's 15-member Supervisory Board freed Baratashvili from his duties on March 4 2013 in a nine to six vote - a circumstance that was qualified as illegal by the court, which argued that the dismissal was to have been approved by two thirds of the votes..
Meanwhile, the Supervisory Board announced a competition to fill the vacancy.
The court reinstated Baratashvili as the Georgian Public broadcaster's general director and ordered that he be paid $3,400 in damages.
