First Pirelli store at Rosneft filling station to open in Sochi in Q4

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - Rosneft and Italian tire maker Pirelli have signed a letter of intent under which a premium tire outlet will be opened at the Russian state oil major's flagship filling station in Sochi in the fourth quarter of 2013, Rosneft said in a press release.

The letter of intent calls for opening other retail stores for Pirelli products as well.

The companies signed an agreement at the end of last year to develop cooperation in sales and marketing. They will particularly focus on Krasnodar Territory, which is hosting the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, of which Rosneft is a general sponsor.

Pirelli, the world's fifth largest tire company by sales, has 22 plants on four continents. As part of its international expansion, the company acquired two plants in Russia, in Voronezh and Kirov, at which it set up joint ventures.
