Armenian president nominates Tigran Sargsyan for prime minister

YEREVAN. April 18 (Interfax) - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has nominated Tigran Sargsyan for prime minister at a meeting of the Republican Party he chairs.

The government stepped down on April 9, the day of the presidential inauguration, pursuant to the constitution.

The Armenian president also said at the Republican Party meeting that the defense and foreign ministers would continue to perform their duties.
