Russian natural gas deliveries to Armenia up 7.8% in Q1
YEREVAN. April 19 (Interfax) - Russia delivered 667.7 million cubic meters (mcm) of natural gas to Armenia in the first three months of 2013, 7.8% more than in the same period last year, ArmRosgazprom said in a statement.
Gas sales declined 1% in the three months year-on-year to 557.7 mcm.
Household consumers used 13.6% less gas - 229.5 mcm - and other consumers used 8.8% less - 83 mcm.
Gas consumption in the electricity generation sector rose 1.3% to 78.7 mcm and industrial consumers used 69.3 mcm, 55.9% more. In addition, natural gas filling stations sold 97.2 mcm, 15.3% more.
CJSC ArmRosgazprom is the monopoly supplier of gas to Armenia. Russian Gazprom owns 80% of shares and the Armenian government has 20%.
