Court to handle case of opposition activist Lebedev
MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - The Moscow city court on Monday will start hearing the criminal case of civil activist Konstantin Lebedev, who is charged with enticing mass unrest in Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012.
Earlier the press service of the court told Interfax that the case would be handled in a special procedure and there would be no preliminary hearing because the suspect pleaded guilty.
The Prosecutor General's Office announced on April 4 that it submitted Lebedev's case to court.
The press service said that the indictment was approved with regard to Lebedev. The investigation claims that together with Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov, opposition activist Leonid Razvozzhayev and Georgian politician Givi Targamadze, Lebedev organized the massive unrest in Bolotnaya Square.
Lebedev is charged with crimes stipulated by Article 212, Part 1 (organizing massive unrest involving violence, arson and property damage) and Articles 30, Part 1 and Article 212, Part 1 (preparations for organizing massive unrest).
