Azerbaijan's Absheronneft produces 54,000 tonnes of oil in Q1

BAKU. April 22 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani oil production company Absheronneft produced 54,513 tonnes of oil in the first quarter of 2013, 3.4% more than in the same period last year, a representative of parent company State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (Socar) told Interfax.

The company also produced 126 million cubic meters of gas in the accounting period, 1.1% more than targeted.

Absheronneft operates a total of 519 wells and added 15 wells to production well stock in the latest quarter. It returned six idle wells to production following capital repairs. Those wells contributed 639 tonnes of production.

Another four wells were added to production following the completion of drilling, contributing 1,220 tonnes of production in the quarter.

A total of 165 yield enhancement measures carried out at production wells yield an addition 882 tonnes of oil and geological measures in the period added 271 tonnes of production.

Absheronneft is developing the Banka Darvina, Pirallakhi and West Absheron fields.
