Russia welcomes steps to ease communication between Russian, Georgian citizens - Lavrov

BRUSSELS. April 23 (Interfax) - Russia will welcome and respond to all steps Tbilisi takes to make contacts between Russian and Georgian citizens comfortable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference in Brussels.

"We will welcome all steps the Georgian leadership takes and respond to them - steps that will allow our friendly nations to communicate with ease," Lavrov said.

"This applies to economic ties, trade and humanitarian contacts which have never stopped, he said.

"Ties between our people and economies must develop in a maximum intensive manner. This will only benefit our peoples," Lavrov said.
