Kyrgyz prosecutors again ask Minsk to extradite Bakiyev

MINSK. April 25 (Interfax) - Representatives of Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies have provided the Belarusian authorities with a list of Kyrgyz citizens, including former President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, whom Bishkek wants to be extradited from Belarus.

"A working group led by the deputy prosecutor general of Kyrgyzstan is visiting Minsk today. They are meeting with representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Interior Ministry," Alexei Begun, director of the Belarusian Interior Ministry's department for citizenship and migration, told Interfax on Thursday.

"They have again asked us to search for a certain category of people, citizens of Kyrgyzstan, including [Kurmanbek] Bakiyev, and extradite them," Begun said.

The Kyrgyz delegation is "visiting Belarus at the invitation of the foreign minister of our country," he said.
