Putin speaks about Oboronservice investigation: case went beyond Audit Chamber last May
MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - The Oboronservice inquiry started immediately after materials had been received from the Audit Chamber, President Vladimir Putin said.
"I became the Commander-in-Chief on May 7 of last year. As soon as I began to familiarize myself with the affairs, I was shown materials from the Audit Chamber amongst the rest. It was clear that the Audit Chamber would not be enough and law enforcement agencies would have to join in," he said in the Direct Line on Thursday.
"The materials were immediately sent to the prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee," the head of state emphasized.
Putin said materials of the Audit Chamber's inspection of Oboronservice were not ready before he became the President and the Commander-in-Chief.
"Results of the Audit Chamber's work were produced. I became the President and the Commander-in-Chief at that time. A report was made to me. And I immediately ordered to submit the materials to the Investigative Committee," the Russian president said.
