Abe invites Putin to visit Japan in 2014

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he has invited President Vladimir Putin to visit Tokyo in 2014.

"I have invited President Putin to pay an official visit to Japan in 2014. President Putin thanked me for the invitation," Abe said at a press conference after talks with Putin in Moscow.

"It was my fourth meeting with President Putin. This time we discussed a wide spectrum of issues substantially and without keeping anything back, including the talks on the peace treaty," the Japanese prime minister said.

"I can feel that we have established a trustful personal relationship," he added.

"Putin and I share the opinion that contacts between the Russian and Japanese leaders, including mutual visits, will be intensified in the future," Abe said.
