Russian farms sell more cattle, poultry, less grain, milk in Q1 - Rosstat
MOSCOW. April 30 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural organizations sold 1.9 million tonnes of cattle and poultry for slaughter in liveweight in Q1 2013, 10% more than in the same period of last year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Milk sales fell 5.8% to 3.1 million tonnes, grain - 42.7% to 3.9 million tonnes and eggs - 2.4% to 97.65 billion.
Agricultural organizations sold 0.9 million tonnes of cattle and poultry for slaughter in liveweight in March alone, 8.7% more than in the same month last year; 1.3 million tonnes of grain, 46.3% less; and 1.1 million tonnes of milk, 6.1% less.
