Russian stock market opens with slight losses on Wednesday

MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market opened trade on Wednesday with slight losses following a drop on world trading floors and falling oil prices.

By 10:01 a.m. Moscow time, the MICEX stock index had edged down 1% to 1371.7 points, the RTS index had dipped 1.2% to 1390.09 points, the ruble prices of most blue chips at the Moscow Exchange had gone down 1%.

The greatest rollback was posted by Norilsk Nickel (-6.7%) and Rostelecom (-2.3%) after the closure of the register of company shareholders on April 30.
