NanoWin Tech to build solar farm, photovoltaic panel plant in Zhambyl region
TARAZ, Kazakhstan. May 6 (Interfax) - Taiwan's NanoWin Technology Co. is going to invest $170 million in two solar projects in the Zhambyl region of southern Kazakhstan) the regional administration said in a press release.
The first project, worth $10 million, is the construction of a solar farm. The second project, of $160 million, is the construction of a plant that will produce thin-film photovoltaic panels using CIGS technology.
The Zhambyl region administration, NanoWin Technology Co. and Zhambyl Power Grid LLP have sealed a memorandum of cooperation in solar energy, the regional administration said.
The first project will be launched this year. The capacity of the future solar farm will be 5 MW.
NanoWin Technology plans to embark on the second project a little later.
