Prosecutor's office warns organizers of Bolotnaya Square rally against holding march
MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - The Moscow prosecutor's office sent a warning to organizers of the opposition rally on Bolotnaya Square amid plans to hold a march despite the ban of authorities.
"In an effort to avoid possible violations, the prosecutor's office of Moscow's central administrative district sent warnings on the inadmissibility of law violations to the rally organizers, Yevgenia Tretyakova, Alexander Ryklin, Alexander Sharov and Pyotr Tsarkov," the Russia's Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement posted on its website.
The statement said that "Moscow authorities propose that the organizers of the event only hold a rally."
"Despite this, leaders of the opposition movement plan to hold a demonstration from Kaluzhskaya Square to Bolotnaya Square regardless of the Moscow authorities' authorization," the prosecutor's office said.
