Rosneft shareholders to consider shelf projects with ExxonMobil June 18
MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - The board of directors at Russian oil major Rosneft has decided to convene an extraordinary June 18 general meeting to be held in absentia and at which shelf projects with ExxonMobil will be addressed.
The company said the sole purpose of the EGM is for shareholders to approve inter-related deals of interest, in the context of joint projects with ExxonMobil for prospecting and developing hydrocarbons on the shelves of the Black and Kara Seas.
The list of those shareholders eligible to attend was determined May 6.
Rosneft and ExxonMobil have agreed mutual involvement in projects in geological prospecting and oil production in Russia and the United States. For its part, ExxonMobil initially secured a role in projects for the development of three East-Prinovozemelsky sections in the Kara Sea, as well as sites in the Black Sea's Tuapse Bay. Later, the companies agreed to add another seven Russian shelf sections to these projects.
