Zhirinovsky says Russian govt could change completely in five years
MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - Leader of the Russian Liberal Democratic Party and its faction in the State Duma, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, said that the cabinet, prime minister included, could change completely by the next presidential elections, which are to be held in March 2018 in accordance with the Russian Constitution.
"I don't exclude the resignation of a number of ministers by the end of the year. And if the situation with the implementation of orders doesn't change for the better, the entire cabinet could change by 2018," Zhirinovsky told Interfax on Wednesday.
When speaking about the resignation as head of the government secretariat Vyacheslav Surkov, Zhirinovsky said that upon his position in the government Surkov was responsible for the "hottest" sector. "It is difficult to monitor the implementation of the president and prime minister's orders due to the weak morale of officials of various levels," Zhirinovsky said.
Zhirinovsky said that certain ministers of the current cabinet were ineffective. And "the president's lashing out" at the Tuesday meeting where the implementation of the May 2012 presidential decrees was analyzed attributed to this.
Executives of the United Russia party say citing various data that as of now these orders have been fulfilled 40-50%.
It emerged on Wednesday that Surkov resigned of his own volition and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the relevant decree.
