Kazzinc reduces zinc production 3.3% in Q1

ALMATY. May 13 (Interfax) - Kazzinc cut zinc production 3.3% year-on-year in Q1 2013 to 72.2 million tonnes, Glencore International plc, which owns the Kazakh zinc producer, said in a statement.

Zinc production from company's own resources fell 15% to 52,600 tonnes.

Production of lead declined by 0.9% to 21.8 million tonnes, while copper production increased by 6.3% to 15.1 million tonnes.

Gold production increased by 23.2% to 154,000 troy ounces, but silver production fell by 6.9% to 4.31 million ounces.
