Russia, Israel's mutual investment could be increased manyfold- Putin
SOCHI. May 14 (Interfax) - The volume of Russia and Israel's mutual investments is not large enough and could be increased manyfold, said President Vladimir Putin.
"We have been strengthening our economic ties, but there are problems here, first of all insufficient mutual investments which could be definitely increased manyfold," Putin said after talks with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu.
Cooperation could be broadened in various areas, he said.
Interaction has been expanding between Russian and Israeli partner agencies, including the emergency situations and health miniseries. "Tourist exchanges have been expanding, as well. The flow of Russian tourists has increased reaching 300,000 last year," Putin said.
The talks were held in an open atmosphere and dealt with bilateral issues and the situation in the region, Putin said.
"Importantly, relations with Israel are friendly and mutually advantageous," he said.
He said that the Victory over Nazi Germany in World War II was recently marked, and he highly commended the Israeli government for remembering the sacrifice made by the Soviet Union.
