Kazakhstan's agricultural output up 1% in 4M
ASTANA. May 15 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's agricultural output grew 1% year-on-year in January-April to 286.3 billion tenge, the State Statistics Agency said.
Meat and dairy output rose 1% to 281.9 billion tenge, while crop production was unchanged at 4.4 billion tenge (151.12 tenge /$1 on May 15).
Farmers had 6.812 million cattle, down 0.4% from Q1 2012, 3.3 million goats, down 5.8%, 1.3 million pigs, down 16.8%, 20 million sheep, down 1.5%, 1.9 million horses, up 4.9% and 35.3 million barnyard fowl, up 4.4%.
