Surkov to leave offices he occupied as deputy PM, head of govt secretariat - Medvedev's spokesperson

MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Vladislav Surkov, who recently resigned as a Russian deputy prime minister and head of the government secretariat, will also leave the offices he occupied at presidential and prime ministerial bodies before his resignation; although he may continue working at some institutions in a personal capacity, prime ministerial spokesperson Natalya Timakova said.

She pointed out that, before resigning in early May, Surkov had headed a number of governmental commissions and was also a member of various presidential and prime ministerial advisory bodies.

"As for the redistribution of Surkov's duties, this will depend on two circumstances, that is, the appointment of a new head of the governmental secretariat, who will assume some of these functions, and his personal decisions of various kind as to whether he will stay in these or those bodies or will leave them," Timakova said.

In any case, Surkov will leave the offices in the bodies where he served as a deputy prime minister and head of the government secretariat, she said.
