Depardieu to star in two movies to be shot in Grozny, not as Akhmat Kadyrov
GROZNY. May 16 (Interfax) - Famous French actor Gerard Depardieu, who received Russian citizenship several months ago, is not starring as Akhmat Kadyrov in the films he is shooting, Chechen presidential press secretary Alvi Karimov told Interfax.
"I am aware of Russian and French media reports saying, citing a certain source, that the shooting of a film about Akhmat Kadyrov is beginning in Chechnya and that Depardieu allegedly will play this part. All of this is not true," Karimov said.
Karimov said that some episodes of the two movies staring Depardieu would indeed be filmed in Grozny, however, these films do not include a role for Akhmat Kadyrov.
