Russian govt to analyze changes to 60/66 export duty system until Sept
MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - The Russian government will analyze proposals to change the 90/60/66 export duty system for oil and petroleum products until September, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said at a press conference in Moscow.
A decision has yet to be made on raising the duty for fuel oil in 2015, he added.
The ministries presented their recommendations on the 60/66 system on May 1, but they were divided in their views and there was no harmonized position, Dvorkovich said.
"There's no rush yet. We can consider this on an even keel until September," the deputy prime minister said.
On the one hand, the government is committed to maintaining stimuli for oil companies to raise refining depth. At the same time, their export potential will rise, and they will need to hear a clear position from the government regarding plans to change the export duties for oil and petroleum products, he said.
"We'll monitor the situation for several more months and see when to announce changes to the system that was adopted in order to create additional stimuli. May is too early. Let's wait until September, when the results of the first half-year are clear," Dvorkovich said.
