Yavlinsky says law enforcement looking into threats he received

ST. PETERSBURG. May 22 (Interfax) - Grigory Yavlinsky, the leader of the Yabloko party's faction at the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, told journalists on Wednesday that law enforcement agencies had started an inquiry into threats he had received.

"Law enforcement agencies are looking into this information. When law enforcement agencies see the necessary statements fit to make, they will be made publicly," Yavlinsky said without specifying what agency is conducting this inquiry.

Yabloko party leader Sergei Mitrokhin said in St. Petersburg on Monday that Yavlinsky had received threats from other Legislative Assembly members.

St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Chairman Vyacheslav Makarov said he was not aware of any threats Yavlinsky could have received, adding that the work at the city legislature is based on mutual respect between its members.
