U.S. invites Russian specialists to visit missile defense control facilities - Gottemoeller
MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - The United States has proposed that Russian specialists could visit its missile defense control facilities, U.S. Acting Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller said.
Speaking on Echo of Moscow radio station on Saturday, Gottemoeller said the U.S. has a number of proposals on the table, and new ideas concerning missile defense were proposed in U.S. President Barack Obama's letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
There are good opportunities for cooperation and confidence building measures between the two countries, she said.
Gottemoeller suggested that the U.S. would like Russian specialists to see the missile defense technology employed by the U.S. with their own eyes.
