Georgian ex premier remains in preliminary confinement - media
TBILISI. May 26. Interfax - The Kutaisi court of appeals has left former Georgian prime minister and leader of the pro-presidential United National Movement Vano Merabishvili in preliminary confinement, the Georgian media reported on Sunday.
The court upheld the judgment of the city court.
The Merabishvili's defense had appealed the judgment of Kutaisi city court that on May 24 chose two months of preliminary confinement as a measure of restraint for Merasbishvili who is charged with corruption, abuse of power and embezzlement.
