Russian govt transfers two Arctic shelf sections to Rosneft, three to Gazprom
MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - The Russian government has decided to transfer the Albanovsky and Varneksky sections north of Novaya Zemlya in the Barents Sea to Russian state-owned oil company Rosneft .
It has also decided to grant Russian gas giant Gazprom the Morskoi, Nyarmeisky and Skuratovsky sections in the Kara Sea.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed the orders transferring these sections to the two companies without an auction or tender on May 23.
