Capital outflow from Russia $3.5-$4 bln in April - Econ Min
MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - Capital outflow from Russia totaled $3.5-$4 billion in April, compared to $7.8 billion in March, Russian Deputy Economic Development Minister Andrei Klepach said at a Monday briefing in Moscow, citing his ministry's estimate.
"We can only very roughly estimate capital outflow. Evidently there is outflow, somewhere in the interval from $3.5 billion to $4 billion. That's less than in March. Based on the quarterly figure that the Central Bank published, in March outflow was estimated at approximately $7.8 billion," he said.
The Russian Central Bank reported at the beginning of last month that net capital outflow from Russia was estimated at $25.8 billion for Q1 2013, down from $33.6 billion in Q1 2012.
In its updated forecast, the Economic Development Ministry puts capital outflow at $30 billion in 2013. Klepach said that this year outflow is anticipated at $30-$35 billion.
Last year, capital outflow from Russia totaled $54.1 billion.
