Turkish president visits Ashgabat

ASHGABAT. May 30 (Interfax) - Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived in Turkmenistan on Wednesday evening for a state visit.

"The regularity of meetings between the presidents of Turkmenistan and Turkey vividly demonstrates the rapid pace of development of bilateral cooperation, in which the two states have engaged vigorously in recent years," the Turkmen state information service (TDH) said in an official statement.

"Displaying their commitment to the centuries-old traditions of good neighborly relations, Turkmenistan and Turkey demonstrate their mutual interest and readiness to raise their traditional partnership to a higher level, giving it fresh impetus in light of the accumulated positive experience of joint work, the existing enormous economic and resource potential and the achievements of their mutually complementary national economies," it said.
