Economist Guriev says investigators questioned him on Yukos more than once

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Prominent Russian economist Sergei Guriev says he has been questioned several times on the Yukos case, contrary to what investigators said earlier.

"All I can tell you on this matter is: the Investigative Committee's statement that it has summoned me for questioning on the Yukos case only once is untrue," Guriev said in a telephone interview with Interfax on Thursday.

Guriev, who is currently in Paris, declined further comment. He also refrained from saying whether he plans to return to Russia.

"Officially, I am on vacation until June 7," he said.

The Investigative Committee confirmed on May 29 that Guriev, the head of the New Economic School, had been questioned on the Yukos case some time before.
