KazTransOil increases oil transportation 2% in Q1

ALMATY. May 31 (Interfax) - JSC KazTransOil pumped 16.947 million tonnes of oil through its pipelines in January-March 2013, up 2% year-on-year, the company said in a press release.

Consolidated oil transportation in the reporting period totaled 11.283 billion tonnes per kilometer, or an increase of 11% year-on-year.

JSC KazTransOil also transports water from the Volga River in Russia to the Atyrau and Mangistau regions through the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak water pipeline. In January-March 2013, the company pumped 5.122 million cubic meters of water through this pipeline, up 5% year-on-year.

KazTransOil, a natural monopolist on the market for oil transportation through pipelines, is part of National Company KazMunayGas.
