China urged to stop exporting psychotropics to CSTO countries
MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax-AVN) - A working group of the anti-drug trafficking coordinating council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization has discussed proposed "recommendations that the People's Republic of China limit (prohibit) exports of psychotropic substances to member states of the CSTO," the CSTO's chief spokesman said.
The discussion was part of the agenda of a working group meeting where "joint intelligence and criminal investigations by the anti-drug agencies of the member states of the CSTO" were also discussed, the spokesman, Vladimir Zainetdinov, told Interfax-AVN on Friday.
The group looked at the coordinating council's mechanism for combining CSTO member states' efforts in fighting international crime rings and money laundering.
Information exchange and the use of the council's database were also on the agenda, Zainetdinov said.
