Production restored at Kumtor gold mine in Kyrgyzstan - trade union

BISHKEK. June 3 (Interfax) - The Kumtor gold mine, one of Kyrgyzstan's largest, has resumed work in full, Eldar Tadzhibayev, chairman of the Central Committee of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry Workers' Union, told Interfax on Monday.

Part of the equipment remains idle due to change of shifts, but all means of transportation will restart working on Tuesday, he said.

The shifts' change will have been completed on Monday.

The first batch of fuel and food was dispatched to the mine on Saturday. The press service of Kumtor Operating Company has reported that the company will try to pick up pace and to bring production to the planned volume.
