Socar ups petroleum product exports 7% in 5M

BAKU. June 3 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (Socar) exported 495,578 tonnes of petroleum productions in January-May 2013, 7.1% more than in the same period of last year, the company told Interfax.

The company exported 7,632 tonnes of gasoline, 426,763 tonnes of diesel and 61,183 tonnes of aviation fuel in the five months. In May alone, it exported 93,205 tonnes of petroleum products, including 2,123 tonnes of gasoline, 76,465 tonnes of diesel and 14,617 tonnes of aircraft fuel.

Azerbaijan has two oil refineries - Azerneftyag and The Heydar Aliyev refinery in Baku. The country's total annual refining capacity is 22 million tonnes of oil. Both enterprises are part of Socar.
