Moscow hopes EC will be in close contact with Eurasian Economic Commission - Putin
YEKATERINBURG. June 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Eurasian economic integration was becoming more and more important for the development of partnership between Russia and the European Union.
Putin said when speaking at the opening of a high-level Russia-EU meeting that the Eurasian economic integration was based on the World Trade Organizations' standards. "We take into account the EU's experience as well. We regularly inform colleagues from the EU on the integration process within the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space," the Russian president said.
"We expect the European Commission to establish close contact with the Eurasian Economic Commission," Putin said.
Putin said that "our integration bodies are mostly based on similar principles and are completely compatible." "This opens good prospects to enhance cooperation," he said.
